Support for Industry Standards

Telelogic® System Architect® is an extremely versatile tool because of the built-in standards support.  Whether horizontal - relevant to functions such as accounting, or vertical - such as supporting the telecom market, Telelogic System Architect standards offer a quick way to ensure compatibility.

Not only do standards make it easy for customers to get up and running, support for standards ensures -

  • Reduced costs by supporting industry-wide standards
  • A flatter learning curve
  • Proven methodologies for individual industries
  • Standard input mechanisms for tasks such as Business Process Modeling or Systems or Information Modeling, and UML

Business Modeling with BPMN

Telelogic System Architect was the first tool to support BPMN, The Business Process Modeling Notation. BPMN is the industry standard for modeling business processes. With BPMN, you determine how business processes depend upon one another and the order in which the processes are completed. The power of BPMN is not only that it offers a simple notation for easy modeling of business process, but also allows for complex modeling of inter-company and inter-department Web services. It can be mapped to business process execution languages such as BPEL4WS (Business Process Execution Language for Web Services) and BPML (Business Process Modeling Language).

IDEF

Telelogic System Architect provides business process engineering with the IDEF methodology. You may analyze business processes through leveled IDEF0 functional models, IDEF3 process models with swim lanes, IDEF3 state models, and IDEF1X data models.

UML

Telelogic System Architect provides extensive support for UML, the industry standard for object-oriented and component-based analysis and design. Support includes capturing of requirements, business-level analysis with Use Cases, modeling the dynamics of the system with UML Sequence, Collaboration, State and Activity diagrams, analysis and design of the static structure of the system with UML Class, and Component and Deployment diagrams.

Data Modeling

Telelogic System Architect provides comprehensive relational data modeling capabilities, enabling data architects and DBAs to design and maintain databases using logical and physical models, schema generation, reverse data engineering, and synchronization between different physical models, different databases, and between models and databases.

Structured Analysis & Design

Telelogic System Architect enables you to perform structured analysis and design, using the techniques of Gane and Sarson, Yourdon/DeMarco, Ward and Mellor, and the SSADM method.
